Geoffrey Wildey was a well-known cheerful character of Dawlish and far beyond, with his lifelong acting career and a stalwart of local theatre. Performing in both the West End and around the country over decades, as well as on screen, he also directed many plays right until very recently at The Shaftesbury Theatre. His death this summer at the age of 95 is a great sadness to the community so as a tribute to a true professional, we feature John Townsend’s interview with him here – recorded in 2023.
